Alongside the FUTURES Framework™, Guided Futures Advocacy provides independent safeguarding and wellbeing audits for children and young people with SEND.

Our audits offer an additional layer of independent oversight, helping local authorities, schools, alternative provisions, residential schools and other organisations gain a clearer understanding of a child's wellbeing, lived experience, safety and support arrangements.

Through structured visits, professional observation and evidence-based reporting, we help identify emerging concerns at an early stage, strengthen safeguarding visibility and provide practical recommendations to support positive outcomes.

Our audits are not intended to replace statutory safeguarding responsibilities, Ofsted inspections or existing quality assurance processes. Instead, they complement existing arrangements by providing independent professional insight focused on the child's voice, wellbeing, safety and overall experience.

Where concerns are identified, we encourage early intervention and work collaboratively with organisations to strengthen support arrangements, reduce safeguarding risks and improve outcomes.

Each Audit Includes

Wellbeing Observation

Independent observation of emotional wellbeing, physical wellbeing, engagement, participation, behaviour, relationships and overall experiences within the child's educational or care environment.

Safeguarding Indicator Review

Professional assessment of safeguarding indicators, including unmet needs, emotional distress, environmental concerns, changes in presentation, attendance issues and any other factors requiring further attention.

Environmental & Support Assessment

Observation of the educational, residential or care environment to identify factors that may influence safety, inclusion, dignity, wellbeing and participation.

Voice of the Child/Adult Engagement

Where appropriate, practitioners engage directly with the vulnerable person to understand their wishes, feelings, experiences and views regarding the support they receive.

Independent Professional Report

A structured, evidence-based report outlining strengths, observations, identified concerns, professional recommendations and suggested actions.

Follow-Up Support

Where appropriate, follow-up visits and reviews can be undertaken to monitor progress, review implemented recommendations and support ongoing improvement.

All reports are prepared objectively and professionally in accordance with safeguarding best practice, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, SEND legislation and relevant statutory frameworks.
